Nigel Farage Isn’t Out to Make Women and Children Safe—His Agenda Is About Race

Nigel Farage has positioned himself as a staunch defender of British values, frequently leveraging inflammatory rhetoric on immigration. Most recently, he claimed that “1 in 4 sexual offences are committed by immigrants.” But a closer look at the facts exposes a different story—one that suggests his true agenda isn’t about protecting women and children but about stoking racial division.

The Claim vs. The Reality

Farage’s assertion suggests that foreign nationals are disproportionately responsible for sexual offences. However, data from the Centre for Migration Control (2021-2023) and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) paints a much more nuanced picture.

  • Centre for Migration Control Data (2021-2023):
    • 104,000 foreign national convictions (across all crimes)
    • 2,500 sexual offence convictions by foreign nationals (~15% of all sexual offence convictions)
    • Source: Migration Central Report
  • CPS Rape-Flagged Prosecutions by Ethnicity (2021-2023):
    • British (W1): 1,142 (2021-22) → 1,291 (2022-23)
    • Irish (W2): 9 (2021-22) → 7 (2022-23)
    • Other White (W9): 91 (2021-22) → 133 (2022-23)
    • Source: Crown Prosecution Service
  • CPS Sexual Offences (Excluding Rape) Prosecutions (2021-2023):
    • British (W1): 4,736 (2021-22) → 6,024 (2022-23)
    • Irish (W2): 36 (2021-22) → 60 (2022-23)
    • Other White (W9): 351 (2021-22) → 465 (2022-23)
    • Source: CPS Prosecution Statistics

These figures do not support Farage’s claim that 25% of sexual offences are committed by immigrants. Instead, they show that the majority of sexual offence prosecutions involve White individuals, including those categorised as British.

So, What’s the Real Agenda?

Farage isn’t highlighting sexual violence because he cares about protecting women and children. If he did, he would be advocating for reforms in rape conviction rates, police investigations, and victim support services. Instead, he cherry-picks misleading statistics to further an anti-immigration narrative that scapegoats foreign nationals.

There is a well-documented pattern of political figures using violence against women as a dog whistle for racism. Rather than addressing the root causes of sexual violence—such as failures in policing, judicial leniency, and cultural attitudes towards consent—Farage and his allies shift the blame onto migrants. This not only distracts from the real issues but also perpetuates racial division and xenophobia.

The Dangerous Consequences of This Narrative

By falsely linking immigration to sexual violence, Farage creates a climate of fear that fuels hostility towards minority communities. This isn’t just about misrepresentation—it’s about deliberate political strategy. His rhetoric serves to justify harsher immigration policies, increased surveillance, and anti-migrant sentiment while ignoring the fact that violence against women and children is a systemic issue that spans all ethnicities and nationalities.

This kind of rhetoric has been used throughout history—scapegoating certain groups to consolidate power and rally support. The pattern is clear:

  • In the 20th century, it was racialised fears about Black men in the US.
  • In post-9/11 Britain, it was fears about Muslim grooming gangs.
  • In the 1970s, the Irish were vilified due to IRA activities.
  • In the 1950s and 1970s, moral panic claimed that Black and Irish people were taking jobs in the UK.
  • Now, it’s Farage’s latest attempt to pin the blame on “immigrants.”

The truth is, most rapes and sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows—not by some foreign ‘other.’ The real crisis isn’t immigration, it’s the staggeringly low conviction rates for sexual violence in Britain, where fewer than 3% of reported rapes lead to a conviction

Farage’s Real Target: Racial Division, Not Justice

If Farage truly cared about making Britain safer for women and children, he would:

  • Advocate for better policing and prosecution of sexual offences.
  • Support education on consent and healthy relationships.
  • Demand more funding for rape crisis centres and victim support services.
  • Push for judicial reforms to ensure rapists are convicted.

Instead, he weaponises sexual violence only when it suits his anti-immigration stance—exposing that his true priority isn’t justice but racial division.

Final Thoughts: Don’t Be Fooled

Farage’s claim that “1 in 4 sexual offences are committed by immigrants” is not backed by data. His agenda isn’t about protecting women and children—it’s about manipulating public fear to push his anti-immigration narrative.

If we truly want to tackle sexual violence in the UK, we need to focus on real solutions, not racist scapegoating.
